(Suggested brochure format)

In response to the high number of immigrants moving to Pasco, WA the Pasco School District is seeking strategies to help immigrants develop their own identity within a new culture. Your school leadership has decided to produce a brochure to assist students and families as they adjust to life in the United States. Your task is to research possible obstacles as well as tips and resources people can access.

Your informational brochure containing visuals will be judged by a classroom committee prior to being presented to the school leadership.

HW 9/27

The following is the work for history today. Also, by Friday students need to find read and print an article on immigration in America for our in-class discussion.

PT 9/22

Students either typed or hand wrote their performance task for the short story "My Favorite Chaperone" today.  They will have fifteen minutes in class on Monday to finish this but many students will need additional time at home to get to that point.  The PT is a summary describing the plot, characters, and resolution of the story.

Students had the following notebook work and a comparison sheet on Jamestown and Plymouth found on the agenda.

Busy Week!

Sorry about not having many posts at the start of the year, things have been pretty crazy! A lot has gone into grades recently and please feel free to ask me if you have any questions about them. We did have a quiz today about the play Lost Colony. Also, our term paper topic decision and Roanoke Vocab sheets were turned-in today. Lastly, in ELA today students created a chart showing their personal family relationships to compare to the story "My Favorite Chaperone" we are reading in Collections.
